The Escola Superior de Arte e Design (ESAD), Matosinhos, will be the main stage of this summer’s Letterheads meet for four whole days. Dedicated to the sign painting, calligraphy, and lettering techniques, Porto Letterheads 2019 allows participants to learn new tools with the masters known worldwide in this field.
This Letterheads edition provides a rare opportunity for curious non-practitioners and enthusiasts to visit several parts of the event in operation.

Porto Letterheads 2019 will feature workshops, lectures, and demonstrations on sign painting techniques for all practitioners. In addition to the traditional methods, this edition offers the opportunity to learn processes with gold leaf, studies in lettering and calligraphy, pinstriping techniques and a typographic production studio.
Please bring your own equipment, as though you were going out on a job, but leave paints, thinners and any other flammable items at home as these will be provided.
The ticket includes a goodie bag, a t-shirt, access to the whole meeting and materials to paint, plus a meal per day. The cafeteria will also be open during the event in case participants want to buy refreshments and snacks.
Guided tours will be offered for free! Besides the tours, visitors will have access to sign painting demonstrations and an exclusive exhibition with historical works from a Portuguese master.
Porto Letterheads 2019 embraces a broad audience within the vernacular arts community. Consequently, the meet has several internal areas of interest in which the participants can practice their craft and explore other techniques.

WHERE TO STAY
Porto Letterheads 2019 is located between the beach of Matosinhos and Porto city center.
If you are looking forward to a relaxing beach experience, you should consider staying somewhere in Matosinhos. However, if you prefer a spot with nightlife and other cultural options, downtown Porto might be a better alternative.
GETTING TO THE VENUE
The venue, ESAD, is located 1 minute away from Estádio do Mar metro station in the Blue Line (Senhor de Matosinhos Line). It takes around 20 minutes from downtown Porto and approximately 15 minutes from Matosinhos to get there by metro.
